India - this incredible culture

Сьогодні ми презентуємо історію дівчини, яка відвідала цю прекрасну країну.

Отже, зустрічайте - Віра та її подорож до Індії!

Already several minutes that I m thinking how to start describing my trip to India..It’s really difficult to describe whole culture in a short text..You need to see the colors of the beautiful nature, smell the aroma of the big variety of spices in the streets and feel how you get drown into the fascination of this incredible country..

Place of my destination. I was met at the airport in Chennai ( that is the 4th biggest city in India due to population). The first thing I thought when coming out of that airport was – wow, so hotttt..how will I survive here..I didn’t know much about this place when coming here..and actually I was staying quite far from Chennai itself – in Tindivanam – place quite small and calm. I was lucky to live in an indian family, watching indian way of living from inside..and be part of it)))) Does it differ from ours?  -Mmm..bit..In  an aspect that their family ties are so strong))) besides when people have pets at home they r mostly dogs, cats, so on..Here I had to get used to lizards  - they were all laughing at me when I saw the lizard for the first time and my first reaction was running,,))) But it was quite amusing and I enjoyed every day of my staying there)))

Job. My intern roles were practicing English with pupils and doing fundraising activities for the school. Pupils were extremely curious about everything. They always inspired me with their charming pure innocent lively smiles))))))))))))))))))))))))

Food. One has to be flexible to get used to indian food. Guess everyone heard of indian food as of spicy one. Ya , its true. But its really tasty. Popular south dishes are chapatti, sambar, dosai, idlis and………….rice as anywhere in India. Don’t worry – a little burning in the mouth and drinking liter of water after eating are worth delicious taste of dishes. I remember being in a restaurant with the family I was staying with. They ordered some sauce for me to rice. When I tried it  - tears came into the eyes – I ate green chili… Everyone was amusingly watching me .. Ohh . I couldn’t stop crying and even water didn’t help to reduce that burning. So be ready to everything when tasting indian dishes!!;)

People. Since I lived in a small town, everyone was greatly curious. People asking to take pictures with them, children trying to touch to the skin,, passing asking “ hi,how are you? where are u from?”,,monkeys grabbing food from your hands))))).. India impresses!!! Generally speaking everyone is really welcoming and sincere and caring..So it makes you feel comfortable wherever you go))

Places. Once you are in India, try to visit lots places. I didn’t manage to visit all I planned..(( but still I gained a luggage of impressions visiting lot of southern cities and sightseeing – beaches along the southeastern coats line - Marina beach in Chennai ( one of the biggest world beaches), temples ( built centuries ago), museums, churches , forts… I am inspired by the variety of this beautiful heritage India posses from past and honors.

I’m home now..And I miss everything in India: from curious people to magnificent places and nature; from noisy streets to no rules on the roads; from hot weather to watching Indians freezing when temperature fell to 25 degrees; from aromas of candles which make u perfectly relaxed to strange smells on streets)); from crowded indian buses to cows walking on the roads and no one trying to prevent them)); from Muslims praying loud so that everyone could hear them Hindus meditating peacefully ( what I couldn’t do myself)… Impossible to share everything..

“This country is not a place you merely see; it’s an assault on all the senses, a journey that’s impossible to define because it’s so different to everyone. But there is one thing for sure – no matter where you go or what you do, it’s a place you’ll never forget”.
